Christiane Wolf

Vipassana Silent Meditation Retreat (April 2026)

For the first time in Korea, internationally renowned teacher Christiane Wolf—Senior Teacher at InsightLA and author of Outsmart Your Pain—will lead a 5-night, 6-day Vipassana Silent Meditation Retreat in the serene mountains of Odaesan.

Calming the Mind – Opening the Heart – Nourishing the Body
During this silent retreat, we will gently guide our hearts and minds toward stillness, kindness, and presence. Through mindfulness and loving awareness, we create space for inner peace. Our bodies will also be cared for—with gentle, guided yoga and wholesome meals.

Amidst the beauty of nature, we will rediscover simplicity, joy, and ease. Stepping away from daily distractions, we cultivate a deep, loving connection with ourselves. In this sacred space of presence, we learn to respond with wisdom and kindness, rather than reacting from stress or habit. These qualities extend far beyond the retreat—they are gifts we carry home, to our families, our communities, and to a world longing for compassion and peace.

The Retreat Experience
This Vipassana retreat offers a clear and supportive structure, including:

· Daily meditation instructions and Q&A sessions

· Silent sitting and walking meditation

· Gentle guided movement and yoga

· Nourishing meals and mindful eating

· Inspiring Dharma talks

· Small group discussions with the teacher

The retreat is held in noble silence, a precious gift that allows the mind to settle deeply. Apart from small group discussions and Q&A sessions, we refrain from speaking. Silence also extends to phones, books, and other distractions, creating a rare environment of clarity and rest.

Why Retreat?

In a world that is increasingly busy and unpredictable, a conscious pause helps us regain balance and peace. Just as a shaken snow globe hides its still center, stress can blur what truly matters. By observing our experience with mindfulness, we steady the mind, strengthen resilience, and open the heart—cultivating both love and wisdom.

Practice Foundation

This retreat is grounded in the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, one of the core teachings of Theravada Buddhism and the basis for secular mindfulness programs such as MBSR. Sitting and walking meditation alternate throughout the day, complemented by in-depth meditation guidance, Dharma talks, and practical dialogue with the teacher.

Open to all interested participants

This retreat is recognized as a qualifying silent retreat for MBSR and MSC teacher trainings, as well as the MMTCP program.
